Two Auburn-related thoughts

1. Harvey Updyke totally faked his "assault." There are all sorts of reasons to think this is true (mostly related to the laughably implausible details of his "attack" and "injuries"), but the biggest, to me, is that this is where he went to get a snack:

The guy hates Auburn enough to commit a tree-killing and brag about it on the radio, but gets his gas at a place called Tiger Express? I find that difficult to believe. See also.

2. Kiehl Frazier will be the starting quarterback by the end of next season. I don't see Trotter and Brosley doing anything that a particularly capable freshman can't do, and Frazier's skill set matches Gus Malzahn's offense a lot better than the other guys do. If Malzahn could win with the relatively untalented Chris Todd, then he can win with a very talented pure freshman.

Two specific things just happened that make me think that. First, Gene Chizik said that Auburn won't name a starter until the fall, and that freshmen have as much of a chance as anyone. Second, and more important in my decision-making, is the commitment of that 5-star quarterback Zeke Pike. I think the coaches know that Frazier is going to be starting as a freshman, and I think Pike knows it, too. The coaches and Pike both think Frazier will be around for only four years (or less), so Pike feels like he isn't going to be in a position where he has to unseat an established starter if he wants to play for more than one year.
